Class objective: Swan Lake Act II Odette’s Entrance, including the mime scene. Aka a good mix of techniques and dancing! Tutus are welcome! The normal class is followed by optional pointe work and the study of the choreography.

The Place also has a red-brick theatre on Duke’s Road, which is a wrong location for us. Please arrive in advance and check in at the front desk. Please follow the studios’ Covid restrictions.
Class level: Beginner/intermediate to advanced. Basic ballet knowledge is necessary. This class will be a mixed level. To make space for everyone, please be kind to each other and respect each other’s levels. You can take the pointe work and the choreography with ballet slippers or switch from pointe shoes to ballet slippers anytime. Please talk to your body.
Class description and objective (orders may change): • Class commences at 2:30 pm • Quick introduction • Barre and centre • Pointe work – this is optional. You can take this part with demi-pointe or switch shoes any time. Please talk to your body. • A short break for changing into tutus, wiping sweat and tears, hydrating and munching chocolate bars etc. • Odette’s Entrance– We use the Royal Ballet’s version. You can take this part with demi-pointe or switch shoes any time. Please talk to your body.
Raymond’s Biography Raymond is the world’s first about many ballet and dance fronts. His rich experience spans from ballet to musical, film, television and choreography: he performed with Companhia Nacional de Bailado (National Ballet of Portugal), Cats the Musical and numerous other theatre productions across the globe. He was also the ballet master of the highly acclaimed Ballet Black in London for many years. Now, he is one of the most coveted ballet teachers and choreographers in the UK and internationally, training professionals, pre-professionals and recreational dancers. He does not age.
